Below, we will share some of our tips and tricks with you to help make the website editing process as easy as possible.
Tip #1: The preview changes button is your best friend!
This button will save you time and time again from publishing unwanted changes, formatting errors, or accidental mistakes. The preview changes button allows you to view the updates you’ve made while editing your website before the updates go live on the website. That way, you can double-check your work and fix anything that might look wonky or an accidental edit before anyone else sees it.
Tip #2: Your media library holds the key.
Ever accidentally delete a photo or file from your page, and want it back immediately? Don’t worry! It’s kept safe in your media library. Your media library holds every document, photo, or video that you upload onto the website. This does not include items that are linked to from a third party. If accidentally deleted, you can reselect it from your media library. The only way your file or photo is gone completely from your website is if you were to click the delete permanently button!
Tip #3: Visual vs Code, which one do you want?
If you’ve ever opened a page on your website, and it looks like the image below, never fear, there is a simple and easy fix to getting it back to something you can understand.
Do you see the handy little code and visual tabs at the top of the content block? Currently, your code tab is selected and displays all the detailed information about the page that is not visible to the public. All you have to do to switch out of code-level view is to hit the visual tab right next to it! I know, easy peasy! You will now see your normal screen, and what it will look like formatted on the page.
